Fan Fiction in Brazil: Over the course of 2013, the Research Group on Innovation at Getulio Vargas Foundation School of Law in São Paulo (DIREITO GV) has been conducting empirical research in the field of FanFiction and Copyright Law. We seek to present our findings, especially regarding the FanFic Community in Brazil: who they are, how they work and how copyright law is perceived by them. We ultimately sought to find out whether legal restrictions on the usage of copyrighted characters and universes act as a barrier to this type of cultural production.
