What Medicines Can Teach Tech: Exploring Patent Pooling and Compulsory Licensing in the Indian Mobile Device Market: This workshop will bring together experts in patent pooling and compulsory licensing to provide input for a new US–India collaborative project that is exploring the feasibility of patent pooling and compulsory licensing in the domestic Indian mobile device market.  Topics to discuss will include: identifying appropriate patents, scoping royalty rates, framing public interest arguments, petitioning governmental authorities, getting industry buy-in and responding to backlash, implications under international treaties, diplomatic and trade implications, and pool administration mechanics.
