Agatha Kabugu

Currently the Deputy University Librarian incharge of Planning at the University of Nairobi. Holds a BA from University of Nairobi and a Masters Degree in Librarianship from Leeds Metropolitan University. Has been responsible for coordination, planning and management of ICTs in the Library, capacity building, collaborations and partnerships as well as marketing of library services. At the national level, Ms Kabugu has been responsible for coordinating access to electronic resources through the Kenya Library and Information Services Consortium. Currently serves as licensing and negotiation coordinator for the Kenyan Consortium.

Has facilitated numerous workshops nationally and regionally on strengthening access to global research information, management and access to electronic resources as well as enhancement of the digital library. In 2012, chaired the University of Nairobi committee that developed the University’s Open Access Policy. Involved in the development of institutional repositories institutionally and countrywide and very passionate about open access.
