Ikechi Mgbeoji

Dr. Ikechi Mgbeoji is Associate Professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Toronto. He earned the Governor-General of Canada academic gold medal at Dalhousie University, Halifax. Educated in Nigeria, Canada, and Germany, his main research and teaching interests are in the areas of international patent law; international aspects of intellectual property law; Canadian patent law; and comparative patent law. An author of dozens of scholarly articles, Professor Mgbeoji is the author of several books including, Global Biopiracy: Patents, Plants and Indigenous Peoples (UBC Press, 2006). He is widely consulted by individuals, corporations, and government bodies on a wide range of substantive and policy issues in the area of intellectual property law.
